terms & conditions
Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions before ordering your bespoke artwork.
The artist, Charlotte Marlow, retains full copyright on all artwork that is produced, including prints, and no piece may be reproduced without her permission. When a portrait is commissioned, Charlotte reserves the right to display it in her website portfolio and on her social media pages. Charlotte will not produce prints of your piece to be sold, however they may be used for display or promotional purposes. Clients who do not wish their commissioned portrait to be shown online must notify her before work commences.
Charlotte will provide an estimated completion date upon enquiry. Charlotte's lead time varies depending on the time of year and her current client wait list. If you require a portrait for a specific date please let her know and she will try her best to accommodate your request.
A £50 non-refundable deposit (including gift certificates) is required to secure your portrait in the client waiting list. Clients will be advised of the approximate waiting list time at the time of ordering. Portraits will not be deemed as ordered until the deposit has been received. Deposits are non-refundable except in the unfortunate case where Charlotte has to cancel your portrait, in which case your deposit will be refunded in full.
Charlotte accepts payment via bank transfer.
Charlotte will invoice you for 50% of the remaining balance one week before she commences work on your portrait. The remaining balance will be invoiced upon completion of the portrait. The portrait will be shipped once all balances have been paid in full and cleared.
The client will be updated with the progress of their portrait. On completion, a digital copy of the portrait will be sent to the client, at which point it may be possible for the client to make minor suggestions. Please be aware that there is a limit to the alterations that can be made at this stage. Acceptable alterations may include small colour additions or additional fur texture. Unacceptable alterations include change of scale, removal of collars and other major changes. If the alterations deviate from the original commission additional costs will be incurred. No amendments or refunds will be made once the portrait has been completed.
If the client does not approve the finished portrait, the client will not be required to pay the outstanding balance, and the portrait will remain the property of the artist. Due to the nature of custom-made commissions, once the finished portrait has been approved by the client and shipped, no refunds will be made.
All portrait prices include guaranteed next day delivery within the UK and will be sent tracked and require a signature upon receipt. Portraits are also available for worldwide shipping and delivery time is approximately 3 - 15 days out-with the UK.

Pet portraits from photos prices are as per current published portrait price list on my website regardless of any older business cards or leaflets you may have. Quotes are valid for three months. For non-standard portrait commissions, Charlotte will quote the client and this will be the payment required.
The currency convertor on my prices page is for information only. Exchange rates will be calculated during payment. The artist, Charlotte Marlow, cannot be held responsible for currency rate changes.
Whilst every care has been taken to assure accuracy of reproduction of prints according to their originals, the artist cannot guarantee a 100% likeness due to scanning and screen settings.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that they have sufficient rights to the photographs that they provide for reference images. Please be aware that Charlotte won't be able to create highly detailed artwork from unclear reference photographs.
Gift certificates are valid for 24 months from the date of purchase. Gift certificates cannot be exchanged for cash but can be used as a contribution towards a higher priced portrait commission provided the difference is paid in full.
The artist will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties.
Payment of import duty may be liable in some countries and is the sole responsibility of the client.
